HILL-AIR -REE-US Stuff from my 3 year old

This morning we were leaving to go to the store and I was telling Maddie, "Come on Bug, get in the car." "Bug, in the car please." Then she finally got in and I said, "Thank you, Princess!!" Then she says this:
MJ: Mommy you call me, Bug and Princess.
Me: Yep, I sure do. I call you lots of things, don't I?
MJ: (Turns and looks at Jonas) Jonas, I call you Grasshopper and Mommy, I call you 'Squito (you know as in Mosquito.)


While we were at the store, we bought some of those blow horns for Jason's birthday today and Maddie wanted to play with one but I told her that we couldn't play with them until we got home. So what does she ask for as soon as we pull up to the house...the horn. I think she asked about 3 or 4 times before I could even open the door. Each time she asked for the blower thingy as she called it, I told her that she'd have to wait, and then to hold on a second and then on the 4th time that she asked for it I said, " Madison!!! It's called PATIENCE!!" And then she said just so sweetly, "Mommy I want a patience please." Oh man, did I laugh!!! How cute and funny is that!!! LOL

So like I said today is Jason's birthday and I was do some decorations for Jason's cake and so Maddie wanted to do what I was doing so I gave her some of the fondant icing I was working with and then she wanted to add coloring to hers too so I helped her do that. After kneeding the fondant and red coloring together her hands were covered with the coloring so when she was all done playing with it, I threw her in the bath. When she got out her hands and a few small spots elsewhere were stained pink. She got dressed and came running into with living room where Jason and I were and saying, "Look, I'm PINKILICIOUS!!!" We, like usual, laughed at her. She's just so darn cute. I do have to tell you that she didn't come up with that word on her own. One of her favorite books is titled, "Pinkilicious". It is a cute book and if you have a little girl, I'm sure she'd love it too. It's about a little girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink herself.

Well that about does it on the funny stories today but I"m sure there'll be more tomorrow. It's all laughs here at the Adams House!!!

Don't believe a word of it...

While I'm washing clothes, Maddie walks behind me headed to her room. She was carrying her little "time out" chair and says to me b/c I have a puzzled look on my face, "Don't worry Mommy, I'm doing nothing!" And I think to myself, come on do you think I really believe that!!

Prayers of a HOPEFUL 3 year old

Jason and I have been talking about baby #3 and we think that we'll start trying in Dec. That will make Jonas and Baby 2 1/2 years or more apart which I think will be good. Maddie already is a little mommy and I think by the time another baby comes she'll be GREAT!!! So today she said, and she has said this before, "Mommy, I want you to have another baby in your belly." And since the topic has been opened I went with it.
Me: "So Maddie, you would like another baby in our family?"
MJ: Yes Mommy!!
Me: Would like another boy baby or a girl baby?
MJ: A girl baby.
Me: So you would like a sister?
MJ: We have a sister. ME! I'm a sister but I want a sister.
Me: So you have a brother and now you would like a sister?
MJ: Yes mommy!!

So then I took the opportunity to explain that Heavenly Father blesses us with whatever he sees that we need for our family. I told her that if Heavenly Father thinks that we need a girl then we'll have a girl or if He thinks that we need a boy then we'll have a boy.

MJ: Well I want HF to give us a girl.
Me: I think I'd like another girl too.
MJ: (In Prayer says) Dear Heavenly Father, please bless mommy with a baby girl in her belly. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
MJ: Mommy, I say I prayer for you to have a girl, K?
Me: (Laughing) Oh, ok sweetie. Thank you!!

2, TWO!! Two gray hairs have now been found. *Tear*

Wow, I can't believe it!!!

I just noticed on my little ticker that Jason only has 4 months left before he graduates. I just can't believe it. When we moved here I thought oh boy 2 years!! I just thought that it would take forever. Well it hasn't taken forever, it has actually FLOWN by. I swear, I think time just gets faster and faster with every child you have, which is upsetting b/c I just want them to stay little forever as most mothers do. I wish there really was a Neverland then I'd let them go and live with Peter Pan so they could stay babies forever. But enough with hoping and wishing...it ain't gonna happen but what is going to happen is that in just a few more months Jason will be done with school and have a job and we will actually have the thing they call INCOME!!! I've almost forgotten what that is. I swear over the 6 years we have been married but even more in the last 2 since we've been here in Greenville in school, we have been abundantly blessed. It is a miracle that we have had enough money to get by every semester. We have done what we can and then our family has helped if we needed it but we have done amazingly well on our own with what we have. I don't know why the Lord has done so much for us, at times I feel that we don't deserve it but I guess He keeps blessing us just b/c He loves us.
Well like I said I just noticed the number of months left on the ticker and I got excited. I'm ready for the next step in life. Jason and I both have felt like we were in between stages. We have been married for a good number of years and we have kids but still treated kinda like kids ourselves b/c of still being in school and not in a career yet. I'm hoping that with a job that we will hopefully be looked at like adults.
We aren't exactly sure where, meaning what city, we will end up in but I think that our first choice in back in Fayetteville/Hope Mills. But just getting a job is most important whether it be here in Greenville or Fayetteville or else where and of course, the dollar signs ($$$) do count for something as well. Personally, I hate this stage, not knowing what you'll be doing in a very short period of time. Knowing that you are most likely moving but you don't know where to, knowing all the work you'll have to be doing in just a few months but you can't really start on b/c you just aren't sure what you are doing. Yeah I HATE it!!!! Oh well, there's not much I can do about it so I guess I should just stop the whining. Well thanks for listening, I do feel better. Though I may not know what's going to happen in the next little while, I'm still really excited to get there.
I know that I like never say this and I should be ashamed of myself but I want to let my husband know that I'm so proud of him and all that he has done to make sure that our family will be taken care of and happy. Thank you sweetie for all you hard work, time and sacrifice to give us a good life. I LOVE YOU!!!

Jungle Rapids in Wilmington

This past Saturday, we joined Sharon at Jungle Rapids. I believe that this is the 3rd or 4th time that we have went. Sharon's husband, Carl, works for this company that gets tickets for all the employees and their families, so every summer we go. The weather was wonderful on Saturday. It was just perfect to spend the day out in the sun. We all had a good time. It was great to watch the kids enjoy it too. They have a kiddie section which we spent a lot of time in but they also have a lazy river and I think about 5 slides. The kids rode the lazy river with us. Jonas didn't really like it. He enjoys water that he can walk and run and roll in. Maddie rode all a lot of the slides with Jason in a double raft(tube). I hate to say it but I didn't get a lot of pictures. It's hard to keep a camera with you when you are surrounded by water. Plus I missed some of it b/c I stayed with Jonas while he was napping.


I've gotten a little ahead of myself here so I'll kinda fill you in...when we first got there we let the kids play in the kiddie area. There were 2 slides there in that area and Maddie went down one and got a face full of water which totally freaked her out and she at that point had written off water slides. But Jason was pushing her to try the other slides. Besides the two water slides, there were 2 others that were part of like a play area thing, like something at a McDonald's but you would land in the pool. Maddie would not do it. She had climbed up into the play set but wouldn't go down the slide, she just sat there and cried. So after some coaxing, she finally just climbed back down and we headed to the lunch area. During lunch, Jason took it upon himself to tell Maddie that if she didn't go down one of the other slides that she wouldn't be able to do anything else and that she'd have to sit and watch the rest of the day. I thought this was HORRIBLE!!! I told him that he was being ridiculous and that she was only 3, cut her some slack but of course he chose to keep it going. At one point Maddie had said that she would just sit in the stroller and watch instead of doing anything. Hearing her say that just broke my heart!! But after we finished lunch and we headed back to the kiddie section, she finally warmed up to the idea, she wasn't happy about it but she did it.

So now that she did that, she was able to do other things with us. This is when we went on the lazy river and after one time around Jonas was ill. I went to put Jonas to sleep and Jason, Sharon and Maddie went to the big slides. The three of them rode this one slide that is like a toilet bowl. You go down a small tunnel and then you go around and around a toilet bowl like thing until you slow down enough to get sucked down the "drain". It's really fun and Maddie liked it. There was another one that Maddie rode but it's just a regular winding slide. I think she liked those better b/c she was on a raft which kept her up out of the water so there wasn't a lot of water in her face unlike the kiddie ones. There was another slide that Jason rode. I have rode it once before and that was enough for me. It scared the POOP out of me and I don't think I'll ever ride it again. It's shaped like a U and when you start off you are going straight down and I don't even think that your raft even touches the slide. Then you get to the bottom of the U and then your momentum forces you up the other side of the U and makes you feel like you are going to fly off the edge. Yeah that's just too scary for me but here's a picture of Jason on it.

So Jason and Sharon took Maddie on those two slides that she went on while I stayed with Jonas and then Sharon came and traded spots with me. So after I had my turn on the slides with Maddie and Jason, we headed back to the kiddie area.
We let the kids play for a little bit longer and then we went to ride the go-carts that they have there. We were able to let Maddie and Jonas ride too. While we were standing in line, it took all we had to keep Jonas back. He wanted those cars so bad. Then when the actual time came to ride, he cried the whole time. He was scared. I guess he was afraid of the noise. I hadn't even thought about it until now but he's scared of the vacuum b/c of the noise so yeah I guess he'd be scared of the loud noise from the cars. Luckily I had Maddie in my car who LOVED it. She actually thought that she was driving at least until the second lap and she says, "Mommy, My thing isn't working. I can't turn this!" I thought that was funny b/c she really was trying to turn it. She was really trying to drive.
Well that pretty much sums up our day there. After the water park we had dinner and drove home. The kids were knocked out in the car. It was a long day but a ton of fun!!! Thanks for everything Sharon!!! We LOVE You!!!

What a sweetie!!

I was putting Jonas down for his nap this morning and I told him to give me a hug and a kiss which he did and then he, all on his own, started to give me "Nosies" as we call it (rub noses). It might not mean anything to you all but it just made my day. I love that sweet little boy.

And yesterday, Jason had left before Jonas woke up and so after breakfast Jonas realized that he hadn't seen his Daddy so he was just walking around the house and looking for him while calling out "Dada!! Dada!!" It was cute but sad bc he wanted his Daddy.

Madison's Birthday Party (June 27)

Sorry that it took me this long to post all this but here it is finally. I have already blogged about Maddie's birthday which was June 23, so if you missed that just scroll down and you should find that. Maddie's party was on Sat. June 27th and she had a ton of fun. The day started out with breakfast and doing a few things here and there to get ready for the party. Maddie wanted to have a dress-up party with her friends so she get dressed in her Cinderella dress that morning. Her hair was still in curlers from the night before. I had a little surprise gift for her to open early. She had been wanting some glass slippers so I had gotten them for her and decided to let her open them before the party so she'd have the whole outfit from head to toe. Here she is after opening them.

As the day went on, we had our family members arriving. We had a house full. Grandad and GiGi (my parents) and my sister Laura came. My brother wasn't able to make it. Then Jason's side of the family came. Grandaddy, Tresea, and Morgan brought along with them Grandma Joyce and Great Grandaddy. Grandma and Oma (Jason's mom and her mother) were there too. Regretfully, I don't have any pictures of our family members at the party. I guess I was busy trying to get everything together.
Shortly after our family arrived, Maddie's friends started arriving too. Her friend Isabela came and Maddie was excited b/c Bela played dress up with her. Here is Maddie as Cinderella and Bela as Aurora (Sleeping Beauty).

Here are all the kids playing outside in the pool and in the MoonWalk. We had Bela and Emily who are from church and also Lucas whose parents we know from the PA program. And then our two of course, Maddie and Jonas.


After playing outside for a while, we came in and started with the cake. Maddie asked for a Princess Castle Cake. So here she is blowing out her 3 candles. Check out those CHEEKS!!!

Here is a picture that I took of Maddie when she woke up that morning and she saw the cake for the first time. She ran up to me and said with a gasp, " Oh, Mommy it's so pretty!!!" This is also the only picture that you actually get to see her curls b/c after the heat and pool, the curls were no more.



I also added this picture b/c I thought it was just so cute of a (cupcake)cake. I didn't make this, I picked it up at my local wal-mart store. Maddie had a little party at her pre-school the Thursday before for birthday and we took in this cake. I loved it so much of course b/c we call her bug and it just fit. Maddie loved it and so did all the other kids at school. But I thought I'd add it so you guys could see just how cute it was as well.

Cake Drama!!!

I have already posted a blog about Maddie's actual birthday which was Tues June 23 and also about her party that was on Sat June 27th. On Fri the day before her party, I sponge rolled her hair again and then sent her to bed. I had a lot of things to do to get ready for the party. My biggest task was to finish the cake. So about this cake...I had decided years ago that I wanted to make my own cakes for the kids on their birthdays until they were old enough to say that they didn't want me to make them anymore b/c they were to embarrassed of them. I will say it and I'm not ashamed to, but I'm not a cake decorator. It just simply isn't a talent that I have. I hope to gain it someday but I haven't yet. But I did ask Maddie, months ago, what kind of cake would she like for her birthday. I knew it was going to be something to do with princesses, and it was. She asked for a Princess Castle Cake. I thought OH BOY!! What am I going to do. Well luckily I had lots of time to research this and try to find something that I thought I could pull off. You wouldn't believe how many of these I looked at and how much time I put in just trying to get some ideas. I was so nervous about doing it but finally I was feeling confident enough that I was getting excited. About a month before, I drew up my ideas and then wrote out everything I'd need to purchase. Of course along the way somethings changed from what I orginally had and also as I learned more about all of it, I realized that this and that wasn't what I was thinking. This leads me to the Thursday before the party. I went ahead and made to cakes. I know how things go sometimes and I wanted to start early enough that if I needed to go to plan B I would still have time. So Thursday I baked the cakes...5 cakes to be exact. 2 square ones, 2 (6 in) round cakes, and one large muffin/cake. I went ahead and icied what I could then went to bed. Then Friday came and I started on the rest of the icing. It took me almost all day just to "dot" half the bottom layer. I had to stop to do this and that for the kids and b/c my hand would cramp up and b/c the icing would turn into mush. OHHHHH, it was so stinking time consuming. I was thinking, this better be worth it. So Friday night after the kids were in bed, I asked Jason to come and help me so I could get this cake finished before the next morning. He did do the rest of the "dotting" which was done by a piping tip. The reason I was doing it this way was to get the look of stone, I don't know if anyone could tell that that's what it was suppose to look like. But oh well!!! So about this "dotting"...ok we all know that men and women are different but geez!! I did appreciate Jason helping me and in the end I guess it didn't really matter but he didn't do it the way I would have liked. I was taking my time so that it looked smooth and nice but Jason was just squeezing it on there and being all messy. But that's a man for ya, and like I said I don't think anyone really even noticed with all the other stuff on it. So after all the "dotting" was over I melted vanilla chips and dipped the sugar cones in it and rolled them in pink sprinkles and added them to the other ice cream cones. Then I rolled out the fondant and colored it and cut it into the shapes that I needed. It was actually the fun part of doing the cake b/c it was like playing with play-doh. Fondant doesn't taste very good but it is edible. I only added fondant windows and the door and a big number 3. Then the last thing I did that night was adding the peeble walkway. I was up until 3 am that night and boy was I exhausted. I was so exhausted that I just collasped on the couch and then I was up at 7 am finishing up on the small things like adding the coconut for grass and the flags and Princesses. After all this and all the time it took to make it, it was so worth it after hearing Maddie says, Oh Mommy it's so pretty!!! So I guess it'll take on another one next year. Or maybe I'll do something for Jason's b-day in a few weeks.

4th of July (Part 2)

After Fantasy Lake, we went back to our friend's house for showers, dinner and naps. Then that evening we headed to the Hope Mills for the tradtional fireworks show. This was the first year to have the fireworks over the HM Lake again since the repairs started on the dam there. Needless to say it was packed but it was nice to be there with our friends. Here's some pics of us there. If we don't look very excited it was b/c we were all tired especially the kids.

Here's the kids enjoying the fireworks. And this last picture just cracks me up. We definitely weren't all on the same page here when it came to camera time. Jason was the only one that knew what was going on and it's a great picture of him. The rest of us were in our own little worlds. Maddie and Jonas' faces are hilarious!!!

Well that was our 4th of July this year. It was a long day but lots of fun. We stayed the night at our friends house, the Bremmer's. Thanks Cristina and Elisha!!! It was fun!! We went to church at our old ward, with the rest of our family and the Bremmer's . After church we hung out some more with the Bremmer's and that's when the kids really started to have fun. Ethan and Maddie would do silly things and just laugh at each other. It was cute. That pretty much wraps it up.

Our 4th of July

On the weekend of 4th, we were in Fayetteville. That Friday we stayed at David's (Jason's Dad's house) and went swimming and hung out. Then Saturday we joined some of our friends at Fantasy Lake. For those who don't know what that is...it's a water park on a man-made lake with rope swings/trapezes, slides and stuffs. I had only been there once before but that was years ago before any kids. This trip was a little different since I stayed on the kiddie side of the park but still fun and relaxing. I had fun seeing the kids have a good time. Here are some pics of them through out the day.

Jonas had a lot of fun. He liked it b/c it wasn't deep so he could just run and fall and roll and splash, to him it was just a huge kiddie pool.


Maddie and Jonas went down the kid slides. Maddie liked it but Jonas not so much. Jonas totally freaked out. Poor Baby!!! You should have seen the look on his face. When Jason caught him, Jonas just latched onto him and didn't let go for a while.

Us girls got our hair DID...

So about 2 weeks ago I decided to chop my hair off. It seems that I do this about every 2 years or so. You know, I just get bored with it and up and decide to cut it off. I mean sure sometimes I regret it but hey it's just hair, it will grow back. This time around I took a picture of my friends' hair cut that I liked but as usual, it didn't come out exactly like I was wanting but I still like it alright. Maddie went with me and she just keeps saying how much she loves my short hair.
Well b/c she was also needing a hair cut and she liked my short hair, I cut it short too. She loves it!! She now says "Mommy, we look so pretty." I will admit that it's shorter than what I was planning on but she wouldn't hold still. Well here we are...2 Girls and 2 Bobs!!!

Madison's 3 rd Birthday

Maddie's birthday was June 23rd which was a Tuesday. Normally on Tues and Thursdays she has Pre-School but just so happen that that week was summer break so we had that whole day to do fun stuff. The night before, I sponge rolled her hair. Here's a pic with her rollers in. She liked having them in her hair.

So the next morning when I took them out and styled it, this is what it looked like.

Before we started on her hair, I asked Madison what she wanted for breakfast, Jason was gone by this time so it was just for me and the kids. I told her that I would fix her anything that she wanted and surprisingly she picked something super easy. She wanted muffins. So we had blueberry and banana nut muffins with chocolate milk(choc.milk is a treat at our house).
Here in Greenville they have a summer movie program that 3 times a week they offer two older movies for free. So around 9:30 we left and headed to the movies. We saw Charlotte's Web which Maddie really likes, so she enjoyed it. When the movie was over, I let Maddie chose where she'd like to eat for lunch and she choose McDonald's. So we went there to eat and let kids play for a little while. Then it was nap time. (A few pics at McDonald's)

On Tues (during this rotation), Jason gets home around 1pm. So after naps we all went to Jumping Monkey and the kids had a good time playing. Here's some pictures of them there:
